Created by Roo Bannister and inspired by the legendary Avon Crocodile, this medieval-inspired signet ring celebrates one of Bristol’s most curious modern myths.
After local bus driver Jolyon Rea reported spotting a crocodile in the River Avon in 2014, the elusive creature quickly became part of Bristol folklore. Hand-carved and cast in Bristol from recycled sterling silver and 9ct yellow gold, the ring’s deep green enamel evokes the murky waters of the Avon. Set with two hydrothermal green Emeralds in the eyes adding to its playful, lifelike character.
Blending local legend, history, and craftsmanship, the piece celebrates Bristol’s imagination, humour, and enduring love of storytelling.
Dimensions: Approximate size P, we recommend trying on. 23mm x 15mm x 7.5mm Signet face, approx 2.6mm band width at back.
Materials: Silver, 9ct Yellow gold, enamel, 2x Emeralds
