How to measure ring size

When it comes to choosing a ring, whether for yourself or your partner, friend or family member, it’s important to make sure it’s the right size. On this page you’ll find useful tips and information on how to work out an accurate ring size for a comfortable and secure fit. Alternatively if you would prefer to use a plastic finger gauge, we will send one to you.

For the most accurate measurement we recommend you visit us as we can help advise you which finger size is best. If you can’t visit us then try asking your local jewellers if they wouldn’t mind measuring your finger for you. Most are happy to oblige.

We know that getting a ring size correct can be a difficult task, so don't panic if you have ordered the wrong size, simply return the ring to us and we can resize it for free or pop into our shop.

To have your item resized or request a plastic ring gauge, please contact us on web@dianaporter.co.uk.

Here are some tips to bear in mind with sizing:

- Your finger size will change slightly throughout the day, depending on the temperature and amount of physical activity.

- Don’t measure your finger size when your hands are cold. They could measure up to a half size smaller than normal.

- Your ring should fit comfortably on your finger. It should be snug enough not to fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle to take it off.

- Most of our rings can be resized by a size or two, but it’s best if you know your finger size rather than guessing.

If you require a finger size that isn’t listed on our website, please call us so we can confirm that it is possible. Most of our rings can be made in half sizes as well.
