Creating a bespoke wedding ring using repurposed sentimental gold

The journey with our clients is steeped in stories and emotion and Alex’s story is testament to that. Alex had gold from her late fathers wedding ring and a portion from her mums that’s she wanted to re-use to create a wedding ring that celebrated her dad’s creative style and that uniquely represented her.

Alex chose a fitted design, highlighted by her grandmother’s diamonds, and we doubled the sparkle by pairing them with two champagne baguettes cut diamonds for a visually dynamic look. The ring has an art deco influence that transcends time, blending classic and contemporary elements.

This ring has been beautifully enhanced by its deep sentiment as shared by Alex:

“Being able to re-use gold from my dear Dad’s wedding ring, combined with a portion from my mum will be something I’ll treasure forever, I feel incredibly lucky to have such a beautiful keepsake to wear for a lifetime”.

We were also fortunate to have the opportunity to craft the wedding ring for James, Alex's partner. He chose a polished wedding band made from heirloom gold, featuring a delicate engraving of their wedding date on the inner side of the band.

“Diana Porter have been incredible from start to finish and did an amazing job guiding us throughout the design process. We couldn’t fault them and cannot wait for our big day”.

We hope you’ve felt inspired by Alex’s journey and how a new story can be told through bespoke jewellery.
