Vershali Jain

Vershali often uses her vibrant Indian heritage as well as objects from her childhood, as visual and emotional reference for her work. The materials that are used to construct the pieces are sourced from the rural gypsy tribe of Rajasthan, known as ‘Kalbeliya’- Music and dance is the way of their life. Vivid colours are produced using a mixture of modern and traditional techniques, enamelling, powder coating and thread work.

Born in Udaipur (Rajasthan) India, Vershali Jain completed her MA in Jewellery and Silversmithing at  Edinburgh College of art. Motivated by pushing the boundaries of what jewellery can do, her work continues to explore new techniques and materials.
